Bingley

 Welcome to Springfield Surgery.

We are a small practice of family doctors working within the brand new Canalside Health Care Centre in Bingley. We provide a full range of Primary Care Medical Services. Despite our small friendly atmosphere, we manage to offer a range of extended services which are often available only at larger practices. We teach Medical Students, and doctors on the GP Training Programme. We try to provide a personal service, whilst maintaining high standards of care.

Springfield Surgery's list is OPEN to new patients in the Bingley area - see new patients page.

On the 2nd April, Dr Simon Gazeley is going to Malawi with his family. He will be leaving the practice for three months to volunteer in a clinic in a small town on the edge of Lake Malawi. Malawi is one of the poorest countries in the world, and the clinic is run on a charitable basis, offering free care to the local population. The clinic is their only source of healthcare. More details about the clinic can be found here www.billysmalawiproject.org/. Simon will return to active duty at Springfield on 9th July.

As many of you will have seen, Dr Gazeley has been collecting some basic provisions/supplies to take over. There is also a donation website set up, should anybody feel they would like to donate to the clinic: www.mycharity.ie/event/gazeleysinmalawi/. Small donations would be greatly appreciated.

Whilst away, Dr Gazeley's clinics will be covered mainly by Dr Abi Howgego. Many of you will remember Dr Abi, who was with us for 18 months during her GP training. We are also very pleased to announce that Dr Abi will be staying on as a partner on Dr Gazeley's return, which should allow us to offer more appointments at the surgery.

 Missed Appointments!

Bingley GP

We are currently experiencing an increased problem with patients booking appointments and then not attending, without letting us know. On average, this is happening over 30 times a week. This means a whole days worth of doctor appointments are wasted each week. Clearly this is a drain on valuable time and resources, but more importantly, makes it harder for those who need/want to be seen to get an appointment.

If you book an appointment, and then can no longer make it or you change your mind about needing to be seen , PLEASE LET US KNOW. We can then free up your slot for someone else.

How to contact us

All contact details are listed on the contact us page.

We regret that, for the time being, it is not possible to contact individual doctors by email for queries or medical advice. However, if you have any general comments or suggestions about this site or our services, please feel free to email us and let us know. PLEASE NOTE emails are only checked once a day.

We try very hard to answer telephone calls quickly. Phone line are particularly busy first thing in the morning, as this is when many of our patients ring us to get a "book on the day" appointment. We have increased our staffing and incoming lines to try and ease phone congestion. If your call is for something other than to book an appointment eg. for test results, it may be best to try later in the day (after 10am).
